On the Wheel

These are my hands throwing a pot on the wheel. I just love pottery.

"We can judge the heart of a man by his treatment of animals."

Moose

My friend's new puppy. He just appeared one day and she immediately scooped him up. She is never without Moose. It's nice, to have a best friend like that.

Woman with Vase

Found her in downtown Kansas City, not sure who sculpted it or the history behind it. She looks sad.

"You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself."
Matthew 22:37-39

A refreshing visit to my friend's horse farm.
Horses are such swift elegant creatures.

My 1st Gourd Carving

This is my 1st attempt. I used dyes and my wood-burner. I chose feathers.
I have a thing for feathers.

1st Tomato

My 1st Tomato of the summer. The plant was grown from seeds. I love watching God's miracles. My gourds are just beginning to vine out. I'm hoping for a good season. I'm already anxious to carve on them.

Our Deepest Fear

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine as children do. It's not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own lights shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

1st Ones of the Year

What a special day I was blessed with. My youngest daughter came home today from college for the summer. Within 2 hours of her arrival, we grabbed our chairs, camara, rods and reels and headed down to the lake, just like old times. We spent the day fishing in the pond behind the house. Just the two of us, catching up on life. And we both caught a huge catfish to top it off.
The sun was shining and clouds floated by reflecting on the water, as I reflecting on this past year. Oh how i missed her and am so happy she is home. It was a perfect day. Thank You God.

Worship

"The worship of God is nowhere defined in scripture. That's because it's such a powerful outpouring of our hearts toward the Lord" and represents such love, gratitude and devotion that it cannot be put into words; nor can it be defined by a song, a shout, or silence. Jesus said, "True worshipers will worship the Father in SPIRIT and truth." (Jn. 4:23).

My lovely friend Ginger said that.

Velutinous

I brought home these feathery seed pods from a winter walk in the woods. They make me think if I blow on them and make a wish it will come true. I am continually amazed at the beauty all around.

Just A Note

Over the Holidays, I did a small art show with a few of my art friends. The "Angel Lidded Vessel", which I posted earlier, I decided not to put it in the show or sell. It was just extra special to me and I wanted to keep it.
Shortly after, a friend I hadn't seen in several years called and said their Father had died and did I have any type of urn they could buy, as the "store bought" versions weren't going to cut it.
Of course, the Angel Lidded Vessel was the 1st thing to come to mind. I did not sell it, but gave it as a gift, a gift back to the Universe of Life.
Looking back, I think The Holy Spirit had a hand in the making of that piece.
Somewhere it says, "Creativity is God's gift to us. Using our creativity is our gift back to God."
God, Thank You for the blessing to be a part of that.

Amaryllis

This amaryllis was forced into bloom in my kitchen window ~ with my little helper of course.
This stunning red flower has come to symbolize pride, determination and radiant beauty.

Quiet Beauty of Winter

In Loving Memory

In Loving Memory of my Father, Alfred Paul Milash, who died on January 21st 2008
My heart aches as I miss you dearly. I'll always love you.
When some time passes and the pain subsides, I will be able to talk about you.
Your Loving Daughter,
Katrinka
