Smokey Mountains ~ Cades Cove

This is one of my favorite shots, taken on my drive through Cades Cove. It was early morning after a rain shower. The smoke that lingers over the mountains was amazing to me. I hope to use some of these photos for references for paintings to do this winter.
The colors on the mountains constantly change with the light through out the day.
I longed for my paints and easel to paint on-site, maybe next trip out, it will be just for that. I already have a few spots in mind. I just want to camp, wake up and paint all day and eat a little dinner and paint some more. I want to completely lose myself in the moment. I need artists in my life, to celebrate the beauty of the moment, who bring vision and hope and dreams...

Cades Cove

I was driving along and about 7 deer decided to cross right in front of me. They were in no hurry and didn't seem to be timid or afraid of people. This guy stopped to scratch his ear before moving along. For being taken through the windshield of the car, it turned out to be a pretty good shot.

Great Smoky Mountain National Park

Went back home to West Virginia and spent a few days in Gatlinburg Tennessee exploring parts of The Great Smoky Mountains. This was taken from one of the road-side look-out points. It's an incredibly beautiful place. I feel more at home in the mountains. I'm anxious to post my new photos.

I was so excited to see THIS fly right past my house 1st thing this morning.
